In 1984, NHRA focused a lot on improving faculties to help grow the sport NHRA lobbied not only for improvements at existing venues but instilled a "ballpark" mentality so that new tracks would be stadium-like in quality and appearance, which no doubt led to facilities like The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Texas Motorplex, Bristol Dragway, Route 66 Raceway, and the new faculty being built in Charlotte. From the bottom of my heart I say, 'Thank you, Ron Capps, for making this special event in my life absolutely amazing and unforgettable!' The sport of drag racing is awesome for a lot of reasons, but it's events like this and drivers like Ron Capps who keep us fans so loyal.
