Day 1                                 Athens
Arrive Athens
On arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

Accommodation – 1 night – Athens

Athens Gate Hotel

The Hotel is located in the historic district of Athens, exactly opposite the Temple of Olympian Zeus and
the Gate, which was constructed by the Athenians to welcome the Roman emperor Adrianos (Hadrian).
The hotel is 500 meters from the Acropolis and 100 meters from the New Acropolis Museum. The
Constitution (Syntagma) Square, and the commercial centre of Athens are, also, only 500 meters away.
The hotel was fully renovated in 2007. Its style is modern and simple, as befits the area. The hotel has 7
floors, a roof garden bar and a la carte restaurant, a lobby bar-cafeteria and a cosy area with fireplace
in the lobby. It has 99 rooms of which 60 have a Queen bed, 38 are twin bedded rooms and a junior suite
with Jacuzzi bathtub and shower. All rooms are equipped with a 27” LCD TV, mini bar, in room safe,
hair dryer, direct dial phones, individual temperature control, high speed G6 internet connectivity, some
offering bath tubs and some shower.

Electra Palace Hotel – 5 Star

This five star hotel is centrally located along a quiet street in the heart of the old town and only 500
meters from Syntagma Square. Recently the hotel has undergone renovations and equipped with the most
contemporary equipments of the 21st century. One of the most attractive features of this hotel is its rooftop
swimming pool with stunning views of the Acropolis. Guest rooms are tastefully decorated in tones of
misty green, misty blue or beige, with heavy fabric bedcovers and curtains, and sofas contrasting in
colour. All rooms feature mini bars, laptop-sized safes, high-speed Internet access and satellite television.
Bathrooms display grey or cream marble and provide combined baths and showers, bathrobes, slippers

Day 2                                 Athens-Nafplion
Leave Athens and drive southwest until we reach the Corinth Canal, which connect the Aegean Sea
with the Ionian Sea. Drive on and visit the ancient town of Corinth where St Paul lives and
preached for two years. The remains of the city, which include the Agora (market place) and
Apollo’s Temple (6th century BC), clearly show how rich and important Corinth was in ancient
times. A short stop at the site of the ancient port of Cehries, where St Paul disembarked will
conclude the visit. Continue east to Epidaurus. The theatre of Epidavros is one of the most
impressive sights in Greece, and is astonishingly well preserved. Home of the 3rd century theatre,
the tragedies of Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides were performed here until the 4th century BC
and then revived in 1955 with the Epidavros festival. Drive to Nafplion to overnight. B

Accommodation – 1 night – Nafplion

Pension Marianna is a simple, small charming hotel in a great location, under the rock of Akronafplia,

Day 3                                 Nafplion-Monemvasia
Drive to Monemvasia. Near Nafplion visit Mycenae home of Agememnon, the ancient king, who
united and commanded the Greeks during the Trojan war, the ruins of Mycenae were thought to be
a myth until the excavations of Heinrich Schliemann in the 1870s.Visit the archaeological site of
Mycenae, one of the two greatest cities of the Mycenaean civilization, which dominated the eastern
Mediterranean world from the 15th to the 12th century B.C. and played a vital role in the
development of classical Greek culture. B

Accommodation – 2 nights – Monemvasia
Malvasia Hotel – A class (4 star)

Beautifully located within the walls of the lower town, near the centre of Monemvasia town, this small
Hotel was converted from several old stone houses and offers comfortable accommodation full of
traditional charm. The Malvasia has space in three areas of the village, the Hotel itself, the "Ritsou"
Area, and the " Stellaki ", where, if you're lucky, you'll have a sea view. Accommodation consists of
attractive Apartments, Suites, Double Bedded Rooms and Living Rooms. Each of the 26 rooms in the
Malvasia is different, with some of the nicest overlooking the sea; all are tastefully furnished with hand-
loomed rugs and antiques. Most of the rooms include fireplace, and refrigerator, and all are with air-
conditioning, bathroom, hot water, electric oven and cookware for preparing the breakfast. Most of the

Day 4                                 Monemvasia
Visit the Castle, the Church of the Panaghia and have time to walk the cobblestone streets of the
medieval city and enjoy the breathtaking view on the Aegean Sea. B

Castle of Monemvasia
Monemvasia occupies a steep, rocky islet connected to the Laconian
coast by a bridge. The settlement was founded in the 6th century A.D.
by the inhabitants of Laconia. A second settlement was later founded
on a lower level, and gradually developed into a town of significant
strategic importance. After a short domination of the Popes, the area
was captured by the Venetians in 1464. In 1540 it was occupied by the
Turks and its decline became more evident. In 1690 it was given over
to the Venetians and in 1715 was recaptured by the Turks. It was the
first among the fortified towns of the Peloponnese to be liberated by
the Greeks in 1821.

Day 5                                Monemvasia-Sparti
Depart for Mystras, the ruined medieval citadel high atop Mt Taygetos, religious shelter during the
Byzantine Empire, overlooking Sparti. B

Mystras, the 'wonder of the Morea', was built as an amphitheatre around the fortress erected
in 1249 by the prince of Achaia, William of Villehardouin. Reconquered by the Byzantines,
then occupied by the Turks and the Venetians, the city was abandoned in 1832, leaving only
the breathtaking medieval ruins, standing in a beautiful landscape.

Hotel Byzantion Medotel

In the centre of the village of Mystras, the Hotel Byzantion Medotel is 1km
from the Byzantine castle of Mystras, and 5km from the town of Sparti. The
hotel 22 air-conditioned rooms, with satellite TV, radio and private

many walks along the paths of this ancient Byzantine town with its

Day 7                                  Olympia
Visit one of the most important sanctuaries of antiquity, dedicated to the father of the gods, Zeus.
Olympia is the birthplace of the Olympic Games and also where they were first held – reputedly in
1000 BC. The games began in 776 B.C. to honour Zeus. Pelops, the king of the Peloponnese was,
according to mythology, their founder. The games, that, from beginning to end were dominated by
religious character and austere ritual, would take place in front of the temples, but later as the
athletes taking part in the games, as well as the spectators increased, in well organised installations.
Visit the stadium and the archaeological museum. B

Olympia, birthplace of the Olympics

Day 8                                Olympia-Lefkada
Today you will be driven to Lefkada. B

                                  The star of the south coast is the formerly pretty fishing village of Vasiliki,
                                  considered Europe's top windsurfing location. The west coast is very
                                  picturesque, with attractive beaches, donkey transport, and roads lined with
                                  stalls selling honey, wine and olive oil. Agios Nikitas is the island's most tasteful
                                  resort, with the classic beaches of Milos and Kathisma nearby. Inland, the
                                  sprinkling of traditional farming villages are overshadowed by the lace and
                                  embroidery village of Karya, which has a museum devoted to these traditional

Day 10                               Lefkada-Kefalonia
This morning you will be transferred to the port for the ferry to Kefalonia. On arrival you will be

Day 12                                Kefalonia-Zakynthos
This morning you will be transferred to the port for the ferry to Zakynthos. On arrival you will be
