Family Day leisure and recreation activities abound in Milton
The Town of Milton is encouraging Milton residents to participate in a number of leisure and
recreation activities being offered on Family Day, Monday, February 15, 2010.
“Family Day is not only an excellent opportunity to enjoy leisure time with family and friends, it is
also a good time to shake off the winter blues and get active,” said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz.
“I encourage Milton residents to take advantage of the many activities available at the Town’s
A meet-and-greet session with some of Milton’s Olympic torchbearers will take place from 10 a.m.
to 11 a.m. at the Milton Leisure Centre. A selection of Olympic-themed family activities are also
scheduled on Family Day at Milton’s recreation facilities.
Special parent and child activities, swimming, fitness classes and drop-in-sports are planned
between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Milton Leisure Centre.
Both the Milton Sports Centre and John Tonelli Sports Centre will be open during regular operating
hours for a variety of skating sessions. Free public skating will be offered at the John Tonelli Sports
Centre from 10 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. and again from 1 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. The 10 a.m. skate is
sponsored by RBC and the 1 p.m. skate is sponsored by Ted Chudleigh, M.P.P. Halton. Weather
permitting, residents can enjoy skating outdoors at Rotary Park and Campbellville (Old) Ball Park.
