Who Needs High School Transcripts?
“Untangle the confusion of creating transcripts. This week, Inge Cannon of Education PLUS joins Home
School Legal Defense Association President Mike Smith to answer your questions. What should you include
on your child’s transcript? How long should it be? Your child’s not going to college—does he even need a
transcript? From helping your junior high student gain high school credit to tailoring the transcript to your
particular homeschool program, these Home School Heartbeat programs will clarify the documentation
Note: Sevenstar’s Learning Management System captures all the information you as a parent
need to create your own transcript. Sevenstar can only issue a transcript when you use a

Sevenstar Academy News– The Online Christian Curriculum
NEW School Partnerships: We are excited to announce the addition of seven new partner schools to the
Sevenstar family. These recent additions include Youngstown Christian School (OH), The King's Christian
Academy (MD), Toledo Christian School (OH), Christian Heritage School (CT), Westlake Christian
Academy (IL), East Gate Christian Academy (MA), and Galesburg Christian (IL). We look forward to
providing the online education needs of our new partners. Many of these schools desire to serve
homeschool families. If one of these schools is near your community, please contact them to learn about
how they can serve your homeschool with online courses.
If you have a local Christian school that you would like to have offer our online courses as a service to
homeschool families in your area, please help us connect with the school.
Prayer Request: We would like to request prayers for flood victims in the Midwest. Thousands of families
have been forced to evacuate their homes and many must soon begin the long process of rebuilding.
Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers!
What Do Others Have to Say About Our Courses?
"I took dual credit courses from Davis College to prepare for college and to get some general education
classes out of the way. Both courses that I took applied Christian values to the subjects I studied. The
courses were challenging in the areas of writing and critical thinking. I am glad I took these courses online.
It was a good experience."
- Neil, Sevenstar dual credit student
“We have just finished our first year offering AP classes from Sevenstar, and we could not be happier. Not
only was the academic content exceptional, but the instructor also took time to communicate spiritual truths
and a concern for the student. We will have three times as many students participating next year, and we
have recommended Sevenstar to everyone who will listen. Thanks for a great experience.”
- Thad Cloer, Oconee Christian Academy Director

Dr. Mark Beadle, Ed.D. Head of School, Sevenstar Academy
As an elementary principal for 21 years, I was amazed that some of my colleagues were able to take off
most of the summer. There was never a summer at my school where we had everything ready for the fall
and thus July was a month to take off and relax. I attributed this to the continual improvement efforts and
amazing growth our school experienced. However, maybe those colleagues I mentioned were just better
However, I am sure some of them were just standing still. What was planned for the coming year at their
school was the same program as the past years and not too much different than 10 years ago.
Sevenstar has exciting things happening and we are not standing still. At times it has felt like a fast paced
basketball game. Here are some new developments:
We have moved to a new Learning Management System
We are implementing our first Student Information System
We have already enrolled triple the number of summer school students than what we had
We have added 7 new partner schools this month! Our highest number ever!
We have added a 3rd college to our dual credit program—God’s Bible School (regionally
accredited like the others)
The below are new courses on track to begin in August:
o All of Grade 4 and 5
o Chinese I and II
o Spanish III
Hebrews 5:12 (NIV) "In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach
you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!"
Can you chart any progress in your relationship with Jesus? Begin to ask God to move your
relationship with Him into new territory. New spiritual development comes from new spiritual

Pillars of Character
For the month of June, we would like to focus on the quality of Compassion. Compassion is an important
aspect of character we are encouraged to put to use in our everyday lives. It is a quality that can have a
great impact on our relationships and interactions with others.
Compassion – the sympathetic consciousness of others distress together with a desire to alleviate
• Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves
• Gossip is like mud thrown against a clean wall. It may not stick, but it leaves a mark
• There are hundreds of languages in the world, but a smile speaks all of them
• People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care
• The heart is the happiest when it beats for others
• We must do good to others because it’s the right thing to do – not to make ourselves look good
• Compassion is sorrow or concern for the suffering of others accompanied by the urge to help
• Love will find a way, indifference will find an excuse
• We are not put on this earth to see through one another, but to see one another through

Blogging Helps Encourage Teen Writing
For most media outlets that reported on an important new survey measuring the impact of technology on
teens' writing skills, the big news from the survey was that emoticons and text-messaging abbreviations are
creeping into students' formal writing assignments. Buried beneath the alarm of writing "purists," however,
was a promising finding with equally important implications for schools: Blogging is helping many teens
become more prolific writers. eschoolnews.com
