Exploring Careers Project
Using a Chinese Food Carton please include the following:
Front) Your picture, name, and the words “Future (career)”. Also include the career
interest of your career (people, data, things, or ideas) along with a definition of the career
interest. For example “A lawyer represents the career interest of PEOPLE, someone
who likes to work with others. Also include (2) of your values and (2) of your personality
traits.
Side 1) This side should be labeled Career Personality. Include the career personality
related to your chosen career along with the definition of your career personality
(RIASEC). A lawyer’s career personality, for example, is Social. Someone with a social
personality is outgoing, a listener, and likes working with people. Include a list of (4)
other Social careers such as Nurse, Social Worker, Teacher, and Coach.
Side 2) List at least (5) transferable skills required to perform your chosen career. It
should be worded “Transferable skills are skills you’ve gathered through school,
work, and other life experiences. Transferable skills for a lawyer are….” (Resource:

Back) Should include a brief description of your career. Please include the following:
a. Brief Description
b. Education Required and Degree: 8 years , J.D. degree
c. Future College and graduation date: Harvard, Class of 2023
d. Potential Salary: $125,000/year

Chinese food cartons can be found at craft stores like A.C. Moore or Michaels. Or you
could go to a Chinese restaurant and ask them for one. They may be willing to give you a
box if you tell them it’s for a school project.

throughout the course.
Be as creative and colorful as possible. I do not want to see any “white” cartons. Please
refer to the rubric as the basis for your project to ensure you have all the elements for an
excellent project.
