Site Council
Our site council meets the second Monday of the month at 4:15. All are invited to
attend as observers and there is an open call to the audience at the beginning of
the meeting so your concerns can be heard. The minutes can also be found on the
Robins website. On March 8 the agenda includes discussion and acceptance of the
proposed budget, our spring tax credit campaign, and child care options and the
details of a new TUSD override.

In 2010 TUSD schools need to cut 10% in addition to the 14% cut we made last
year. At the last meeting site council approved the proposal to move from full to
half time kindergarten in the 2010-2011 school year. Parents of incoming
kindergarteners have been notified and, depending surveyed needs, we are
considering ways we may provide kinder-care before or after a half day session.

We needed to go to half-day kinder because unfortunately, the Arizona State
Legislature is funding only half day kindergarten. Also, the TUSD override did not
pass last fall which would have provided all day kinder, technology, Opening Minds
through the Arts and per pupil funds directed to the site councils of all TUSD
schools.
Kindergarten Registration
Although we have invited people to attend on Wednesday at 2:00, we may have
missed a few folks. If you know anyone who has a child turning 5 before
September 1st, please encourage them to attend Robins Kindergarten Registration
on March 10 at 2:00. Open enrollment students will be accepted throughout the
spring and summer. We will continue to provide an excellent education for cinders
and a foundation for future learning at Robins.

Festival of Books
Join us for a family field trip on March 13 to the Tucson Festival of Books at the
UA. Ride the bus for only $3 per person if you get your money in by the 11th. We
depart Robins at 9:30 and return at 3:30. Meet famous authors, hear about their
books, and participate in some fun activities. Check out the Festival website for
schedules. There is something for everyone! tucsonfestivalofbooks.org/

important students are present and well rested all week.
