REMINDERS
Keep sending in those box tops, soup labels, and soda can pull tabs. Every little bit helps our
school
Scrip is an excellent and effortless way to pay down your commitment. Forms for grocery
and retail scrip are available online
Please remember to follow the rules at drop off both in the front and back of the building.
Stay in line, pull up all the way down by the preschool entrance before letting your children
out and NEVER park in the back lot if you need to leave before 8:10. Also don’t forget that
there is another drop off line at the back of the building so if the line in the front backs up
just drive around to the back of the building. Everyone needs to follow the rules at all times-
our children’s safety depends on it!!
Look for information on upcoming Merchant Nights (and days) at our local establishments.
Make plans for dinner with some school friends.
You still have time to purchase your Basketball Slam scratch off & discount tickets.
Basketball Slam tickets will be on sale until March 29th. Get your tickets now to get a chance
to win up to $250! You even have a chance to win if you have March Madness teams that
lose!
NOTES
H.S.A. is still looking to fill the position of TREASURER. The position runs for 2 years
from May 2010 – to May 2012. The first year on the board you work as the junior Treasurer
along side of the senior Treasurer. In the second year of the position you take the lead in the
Treasurer and work with the new incoming junior Treasurer
H.S.A. is also looking to fill a new position of Fundraising Chairperson. This person will
coordinate all fundraising activities, help track expenses and profitability, and bring new
fundraising ideas to the board. This position is expected to attend the monthly H.S.A. board
meetings.
Look for information on the upcoming SMS Book Swap. This is your chance to send in
those books you have in your house that your children are done reading and maybe have
your kids find some cool new books to bring home.
Congratulations to Jenn Tomaselli for winning the $50 dinner gift card from H.S.A. for
sending in her friend to the first Open House meeting held this year. Enjoy dinner on the
H.S.A., Jenn, and thanks for sending your friend to check out SMS.
Congratulations to the two 5th grade classes for getting ice cream! There was a tie as both
classes had the most parents come out to our open H.S.A. board meeting on March 1st.
Thank you to ALL parents who came out to the meeting!
Great news for families of SMS, the Spring Teacher Remembrance has been reinstated. Look
for the forms coming in early May. So many families voiced their concerns on this item
being removed that the H.S.A. co-presidents took up the issue to see if they could bring it
back, and it was approved! Now families will have more options for giving teachers thank
you gifts in the spring.
THANK YOU!!!
Terry Furbee for all the delicious refreshments at our last H.S.A general meeting.
Kerstin Howarth for organizing our uniform swap.
Suzi Francese for volunteering your time in our parking lot every morning and chairing our
SpiritWear committee.
Kathy Vladyka and the Baking Committee members for providing all sorts of wonderful and
delicious delights at various events!
Melanie McNamara for organizing Teacher Appreciation events.
Our Social Concerns team for being there for school families in need.
Remember you can always send in questions, concerns, and
suggestions to the H.S.A. board by using the e-mail addresses on
the H.S.A. link on the school website.
