Outsourcing Proposal Writing/Project Development
“Our goal is to assure that 100 percent of grant applications meet funding
Jerome Seliger, Ph.D., and Associates (“Contract Writer Team”) is a private small
business that has provided proposal writing, project and program management, grants
management, professional and support staff training and guidance about third party
funding sources for more than thirty years. At present, we (the Contract Writer Team as
a whole) produce an average of 3 individual project grant applications monthly to private
foundations and about 1 government grant application for individual projects bi-monthly.
Jerome Seliger, Ph.D., President, Jerome Seliger, Ph.D. and Associates, has more than
thirty years of experience as a successful project and program grant writer and grants
manager. Combined our Associates, all professional grant writers, add more than one
hundred years of successful proposal writing experience. Dr. Seliger co-authored
Delivering Human Services (Prentice-Hall, 1981). This primer encompassing all aspects
of the grants development process was among the first such publications in the nation.
Team experience includes the preparation of case statements for capital campaigns and
programs and grant proposals in response to private philanthropic foundation and
government RFPs as well as the preparation of unsolicited program, research,
equipment and facility construction proposals to foundations, corporations and
individuals. We are quite familiar with LA- area foundation and corporate resources and
have successfully obtained program and capital funding from such local philanthropic
sources. We are familiar with and have experience with the community-based nonprofit
family and social services agency network throughout LA County, as well as with the
public and private health and mental health systems in Los Angeles County.
Key To Our Success: Threefold Approach
A successful grant proposal is one that is well prepared, thoughtfully planned, and
concisely packaged. We propose a threefold approach to increase the likelihood that
the proposals we prepare on behalf of the Client are awarded grant funds. The first is to
assure the careful match of a project and applicant to a particular funding source.
Second is to consult actively with the Client to identify and describe demonstrated
applicant competence, experience, and the compelling need the project addresses and
the logic of the project design. Finally, we assist the Client in developing as fully as
possible, community and constituent support.
