Brennan, 9th April, 2009. “That the members of Kilkenny County Council demand that the Minister for the Environment amend the Nitrate Regulations and the Water Framework Directive to eliminate the need for more than one farm inspection as a number of inspections are wasteful and are an unacceptable burden on farmers and an unnecessary cost that County Council’s can ill afford. This compliance and on-farm inspection work is already being carried out completely by a qualified Department of Agriculture inspectorate”. 11(09) Cllr. Michael O’ Brien 9th April, 2009 “That Kilkenny County Council will review its method of supplying information to Oireachtas Members under the Local Government Act, 2001 (Section 237A) Regulations, 2003”. 12. Notices of Motion from other local authorities seeking support of Kilkenny County Council County Council - Fógraí i dtaobh Rúin ó Údaráis Áitiúla eile ag lorg tacaíochta ó Chomhairle Chontae Chill Chainnigh: 13 (09) Limerick County Council – 13th March, 2009 “That, Limerick County Council calls on the Government to introduce appropriate legislation to ensure that the overheads faced by small businesses are curtailed as many are finding it increasingly difficult to remain in business”. 14(09) Killarney Town Council – 24th March, 2009 “In view of the fact that the Irish Bookmakers Association are lobbying the Government very strongly to allow Gaming Machines into the Bookmakers Shops in the Republic, I am asking Killarney Town Council to circulate all Councils calling on the Government to reject this Gaming Machine proposal, as it would be the ruination of society in this Country”. 15(09) Monaghan Town Council – 25th March, 2009 “That this Council recognises Seachtain na Gaelige’s significance of celebrating and promoting the Irish Language, condemns the Government for its recent attacks on the Irish Language, namely the proposal to abolish Early Immersion (Tumoideachas) Education and cuts to support for summer courses in Irish colleges in the Gaeltacht. This Council appals these cuts and calls for the immediate reversal.
