International Baccalaureate (IB) Program at Rickards High School
Prepared by Program Monitoring and Evaluation Services 1/2004
The International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Rickards High School is a four-year program. The first two
years consists of pre-lB foundational structure designed to provide the student with sufficient academic, analytic,
theoretical and practical skills to perform at an international level. The final two years consists of a
comprehensive and demanding formal curriculum sanctioned by the lB Curriculum and Assessment Centre in
Cardiff, Wales.
The general objectives of the lB Program are to provide students with a balanced education; to facilitate
geographic and cultural mobility; and to promote international understanding through a shared academic
experience.
