Did you know that the release of technical information to a colleague in the United States
may be an export? Are you aware of the rules and regulations regarding deemed exports?
Export compliance not only involves controlled goods and technologies, it also involves
restrictions on shipping to certain countries, companies, organizations, and/or individuals.
Export compliance is critical for all companies that export.

BIS is responsible for the regulation of exports for national security, foreign policy, and
nonproliferation reasons and the enforcement of those regulations. Please join us for this
unique opportunity to learn about export compliance from the Special Agent in Charge of
export enforcement in the Chicago area.
