Referral Guide for Case Managers
Program Objectives- To Allow Participants To: • • • • • Further develop their career action plan that will outline steps needed to achieve their career goals Identify and assess their personality, interests, values, skills, and abilities in order to gain greater self understanding to explore career options Examine the importance of Transferable Skills and identify the skills that they will need to market themselves in the competitive labour market Utilize effective resources and techniques to research career information Identify strategies that will enable them to be successful in their future careers
Criteria for Referral • • • • • LINC Level 4 Grade 10 Literacy Basic Computer Skills (Knowledge of Internet, Use of Keyboard and Mouse) Interest and Commitment in Attending a Structured 2 - Week Program Please fax a copy of clients’ Employment Action Plan & Resume (if available)
Questionnaire administered in the orientation will determine client’s comprehension level (based on CAAT: language, grammar, numeric). Short answer questions, Career Decision Making Needs Assessment (based on My Vocational Situation: MVS) will be administered as a pre-evaluation to clarify participants’ current career goals and needs
Length of Program Two-week series, Monday~ Friday 9:15 am - 3:15 pm Orientation Dates: Every 3rd Wednesday (during the non facilitating week in between programs) 9:15 am -11:15 am - dates to be determined
