The Career Plan
Learning Objective: Through the use of personal assessment, goal setting, and research, you will complete a written career plan for your chosen career. Assigned: _______________ Due: ___________________ 1. 2. You are to complete a 3-5 page paper on your chosen career. The finished assignment should be typed, double-spaced, in 12 font, with a title page, endnotes, and a "Works Cited" page in APA style. Each page should be numbered at the top, beginning with page 1. [Do not number the cover page or the "Works Cited" page]. The title page should include: Name of Career, Student Name, Class Period, and Date. It should be centered. Your completed project should be placed in a pocket folder and handed in by the due date. Loose papers will not be accepted. Plagiarism occurs when a paper is written and the source is not identified in the writing [whether or not you have a "Works Cited" page]. Remember, without source identification within the writing, it is only a report and not a research paper. References within the writing should be made to both the self-assessment activities, and the short and long-term goals. You are writing an individualized career plan for what you want to happen in your life. Refer to the guideline research questions. These contain the topics which must be discussed within your career plan. The written career plan is worth 400 points. The written report is worth 50 points. Identifying your source within the writing of the report is 50 points. The "Works Cited" and Title pages, Guideline Questions [discussed within the paper], and Bibliography page are worth 25 points each [100 total]. Sources actually used [see note #6] are 50 points, a hard copy of the PowerPoint Slide is 50 points, and the Rough Draft [of the career plan] is 50 points.
