CAAN provides leadership, support & advocacy for Aboriginal people living with & affected by HIV/AIDS for First Nations, Inuit & Métis people regardless of where they reside.
JOB DESCRIPTION: $ $ $ $ Reporting to the Executive Director (or designate). Perform bookkeeping duties using ACCPAC Plus for Windows or such other software as determined by the organization. Assist with monthly/quarterly financial statements and reports; preparation of financial records as part of overall accounting services. Assign items and code invoices, input transactions and perform bookkeeping journal entries, complete check requisitions and bank reconciliations, maintain accounts payable and receivables, generate various reports for senior staff and Board, etc. Perform all duties of an Executive Assistant, including but not limited to: minute taking; collect and record employee time sheets; maintain proper records; organize files, meetings, and teleconferences; logistical support for various organizational travel; etc. Assist with CAAN communication efforts (newsletter, mail outs, etc). Ensure accurate and up to date mailing lists are developed and/or maintained. Support all reporting requirements by organizing reports and keep on file. Maintain and apply excellent organizational and writing skills and ensure existing and/or modified office policy and procedures are maintained and distributed. Collect and maintain time sheets, time off requests, central records, etc. Possess and exercise excellent knowledge of computer software programs that are necessary for the successful and comprehensive bookkeeping and financial records. Operate individually and within a team setting; maintain excellent organizational skills; demonstrate an ability to learn and be self-directed; possess and apply excellent problem-solving skills; operate within a strong work ethic and maintain professionalism; apply open-minded attitudes/respect toward individuals from varying walks of life All other duties as required of this position, with respect to executive assistant duties and bookkeeping duties while supporting the overall organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: $ College diploma in Bookkeeping or Certified Management Accounting equivalency. $ 3 yrs Experience as an Executive/Administrative Assistant. $ Excellent organizational abilities. $ Excellent oral and written communication skills. $ Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
