Application Guidance Notes
Applicants are strongly advised to read the job description, associated
competencies and other information provided before completing the application
1) The application form should be completed in black ink or type-face. No
attempt should be made to redesign the form.
2) Answers must be restricted to the space provided on the form. Additional
pages are not permitted.
3) Applicants are required to complete all sections of the form.
4) It is imperative that you are open and honest with your answers. Evidence
needs to be specific and focused on your personal
involvement/experience and actions. The evidence you present must be
from within the last five years. The appropriateness of your application will
be determined by the extent that your evidence relates to the competency
area being asked about, how thoroughly you respond to the questions
asked and how appropriate your examples are in relation to the issues
facing the RCIPS.
5) It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the application form is
completed and returned to the appropriate address specified in the
His Excellency, The Governor will be closely involved in the selection process
and is responsible for the appointment to senior posts within the Police Service
and he will be chairing the final selection panel.
After the closing date of Friday, 5 August 2005, all applications will be carefully
considered and candidates informed of the decision whether selected for
interview or not. Interviews will be held week commencing 29th August 2005 in
