Property in Israel AND a Zionist contribution to Settling the Land
Today, there are over 250,000 people, from varied backgrounds, and the entire spectrum of
observance, age and profession, living in Yesha (acronym for Judea, Samaria and Gush Katif).
Throughout the years, during every type of government, and despite the highest level of terrorism
and road attacks, the population of Yesha has continued to grow and the demand for housing has
continued to be high.
Among those responsible for the population growth is Amana, the settlement arm of Gush Emunim,
being, practically, the only operative organization creating community villages in Yesha.
The Amana staff not only provides crucial lobbying, wielding a great deal of influence as a result of
over 30 years in the field, but trains and supervises community government until such a time when
the community leadership is sufficiently experienced to be totally and effectively independent.
Amana has placed mobile homes (caravans) in communities to provide reasonably priced housing
for young couples in order to make it possible for them to afford community village living while
starting out their lives.
Similarly, Amana has built permanent homes in such a way as to enable young families to purchase
a starter home, with the possibility of expansion when their means permit.
Unfortunately, changes over the past several years have made it increasingly difficult to build and
purchase homes in Yesha. For example, The Housing Ministry has now totally ceased providing
discounted infrastructure for new homes in Yesha.
This has greatly limited the ability of communities to build homes and, as a result, for young
families to purchase homes.
We find ourselves at an important crossroads.
Almost all communities in Yesha are full, with no possibility of accepting new young couples or
families. If we don't find a solution NOW, we will create our own population freeze, which may, in
turn, begin a phenomenon unknown before in Yesha, that of families leaving our communities.
Since its dramatic beginnings in 1975, settlement in Yesha has served as the Zionist horse pulling
the State of Israel's cart up the hill. Should the Yesha communities lose the ability to build and
absorb new families, not only will the cart stall, but may also, G-d forbid, begin a downward slide.
It is within your power to help this Zionist powerhouse remain steadfast in its ascent – to create a
positive trend where no political party in Israel has succeeded through policy or politics, and to
leave your thumbprint on the destiny of Israel.
This can be done by purchasing your own home in Yesha. The purchase of a home, which is then
rented out to a family wanting to make its home in Yesha, is a giant step forward in your love of
Israel in the very areas where our forefathers walked this land. It is an ideological gesture of love of
the Land of Israel, as well as emunah in Kadosh Baruch Hu that our future is indeed bright.
Such a step is a fulfillment of the prophecy of Yirmiyahu: " This is what the Lord Almighty, the G-d of
Israel has said: Once again will there be houses, fields and vineyards in this Land." (Jeremiah 32)
In order to join together to fulfill this prophecy, a special program has been developed.
A New Home will be Built in Your Name
Your home will be a single-family dwelling with a garden at a purchase price beginning at
$120,000 which can be built in your choice of many communities. The price will vary
depending on which community you choose.
All houses are to be built on government lands allocated by the settlement department of the
World Zionist Organization. Proper building licenses will be obtained. These two regulations
insure that, according to Israeli law, there is no possibility of your ownership rights being
Your home will be rented out at a monthly rate beginning at $250/month (and varying from
community to community) and the proceeds will be put in your bank account.
"Binyanei Bar Amana" will manage the property, including rent collection and transfer, for
Amana will assist you, if requested to do so, in arranging financing for your purchase.
Mortgages are available, and your monthly payment might even be the equivalent of the
monthly rental, such that after a small down payment, the rental income can cover the
mortgage payments. And mortgages are available for a large percentage of the purchase
price of your home.
Amana will provide guided tours of the communities in question to better facilitate your
choice of community, and aerial photos will be provided of the communities with your
home's location in the community clearly specified.
With adequate notice as defined by contract, Amana will have your house vacated and made
ready for sale, should you wish to sell your home, or for a designated relative or
acquaintance – or even yourself ! – to move into the house.
Should you want Amana to sell your home to realize your investment, Amana takes
responsibility to do so, upon three months notice.
The plan is devised in such a way as to return your initial investment/donation to you through
rent and provide a modest profit should you sell the home while you, at the same time, are
giving a young family the historic opportunity to live in and strengthen Yesha.
The Amana Settlement Organization targets all Jewish families.
In Amana communities all across Yesha, people of all types and backgrounds reside: religious,
secular and haredi, old and young, native-born Israelis and immigrants from all over the world.
Amana pioneered the integrated, religious and secular, community concept with a unique
educational framework to serve such an integrated community.
The majority of Amana communities are community villages of up to 200 families, though there are
exceptions wherein educational centers and spiritual centers are found.
Amana is the settlement arm of Gush Emunim and has created a subsidiary, Batei Amana, which is
at the very forefront of building homes in Amana communities and all across Yesha and is, in
reality, the only building company that continues to build new housing projects in Yesha today.
Binyanei Bar Amana has over 50 building projects to its credit in Yesha and the Galilee, with a
respected reputation for building over 2000 fine, affordable homes.
Amana offers you the option of purchasing a home, registered in your name, in Eretz Yisrael, that
gives you a permanent foothold in the Land of Israel.
