Situation Vacant : Web Developer
The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) is a regional organisation formed in
the early-1980’s for joint promotion of the region as a tourist destination. SPTO
comprises thirteen member countries.
The member countries include China, the Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia
(Tahiti), Kiribati, New Caledonia, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon
Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The head office is located in Suva, Fiji.
SPTO requires the services of a Web Developer to develop and maintain the SPTO
web site (www.spto.org) as well as assist with the development of the web sites of
our country members. SPTO runs its web site with a Content Management System
which is Java / MySQL based.
Candidates will be required to update content in the system, develop new page
layouts and improve the site design / look and feel. Programming work using Java
and MySQL will also be a likely requirement.
SPTO fosters a strong work culture and candidates will be joining a young, vibrant
and dynamic team helping to promote and develop tourism in the South Pacific.
This is a challenging position in one of the most exciting sectors of the South Pacific.
Applicants must possess the following in order to apply:
• Graduate in IT or related discipline
• At least one years experience in software / web development.
• Experience with Java (JSP’s, Servlets, Tomcat)
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL)
• Experie nce with graphic design (e.g. Adobe Photoshop).
