The home remodel project is valued at over $100,000. All materials and labor were donated free of
charge by businesses throughout the Valley, such as Dodge Electric, Cholla Cabinets, Red Mountain
Renewal and Window World, to name a few.
Harris, who has not seen the home since the remodeling began, will see the house for the first time after
she is escorted to the home in a limousine, given the keys and walks into her “new” home! Inside, she will
find a completely remodeled kitchen with new cabinets, countertops and appliances; two totally

Roxie Mae Harris, recipient of The Third Annual Stardust Building Supplies’ Angels On Call Angels
Helping Angels Home Makeover Project, is finally going home – to her newly remodeled house, that is!
For the past three weeks, Harris’s home has been gutted and remodeled – a complete transformation.
This WEDNESDAY, MAY 26 at 1:30 p.m., Harris will be escorted to the house in a limousine and given a
new set of keys to open the door to her “new” home.
Instead of feeling hopeless after a fire devastated her home in 2008, Harris instead counted her blessings. The day of
the fire, Harris’s great-granddaughter, who was living with her and home sick that day, was able to escape through a
bedroom window with minor injuries.
Now, Harris and her great-granddaughter will soon count their blessings again and move back into the home, which
has been completely renovated at no-cost on her behalf by the Angels On Call and a team of over 40 Valley
businesses that donated their time and services to the project.
“I can’t wait to see what the house will be like,” Harris said. “It will be like moving into a brand new home.”
“Her wait will be worth it,” said Dee Soumala, program manager for Angels On Call. “Virtually everything in the
home has been transformed. It will be a much just like when we are finished.”
All labor and products were donated to the project at no cost. The Harris home remodel project is valued at over
$100,000. The house received a complete kitchen remodel including new cabinets, countertops and appliances; new
plumbing and electrical systems, new energy efficient windows, furniture and more.
This year’s home makeover project was open to all Valley homeowners that met a few basic requirements, including
federal poverty guidelines. Homeowners were invited to submit applications describing their need for a home
“This home makeover project is truly a labor of love for Angels On Call,” said Soumala. “We are so grateful for all
the donors and volunteers that came together to make the project possible.”
