TEI VP for Region I (Canada) Munir A. Suleman, welcomed more than 150 members, guests, government officials, and sponsors to the 42nd Annual Canadian Tax Conference held May 4, 2008 to May 7, 2008, in Catineau, Quebec. The strong participation and support of Canadian government officials was the key to bringing members up-to-date reports on the latest in Canadian tax policy and administrative developments. Between the opening and closing panels, participants were briefed by members and practitioners on transfer-pricing litigation, customs and income tax issues in transfer pricing, the government's advisory panel on Canada's system of international taxation, the intersection of tax planning and litigation, Quebec sales tax developments, US sales and use tax developments, foreign affiliate rules, and the Canada-US tax treaty.
