On September 2006, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) was notified of children infected with Escherichia coli O157:H7 after consuming raw cow milk or raw cow colostrum produced from the same dairy. Schneider et al summarize the investigation of these cases by CDPH, the California Department of Food and Agriculture, and four local health departments and subsequent actions to prevent illnesses.
