Despite the passage of a bill in Florida last month that will allow visitors and employees to keep guns in their cars on employers' premises, lawyers are advising clients not to panic. That's because many still hope the law won't ever take effect. Under the law, employers cannot prevent employees or visitors from keeping guns in their locked cars as long as they have a concealed weapon permit. On April 21, the Florida Retail Federation and the Florida Chamber of Commerce jointly filed a lawsuit against the Florida Attorney General's Office stating that the law is unconstitutional because it violates employers' property rights.
