The clearest, most resounding finding from a 2007 survey by IABC/Chicago and L C Williams & Associates Research Group in Chicago is that ABCs, employers and clients say accredited business communicators add value to their organizations and clients by practicing strategic communication management. Two-thirds (67%) of the ABCs surveyed say that being an ABC is "very valuable" or "valuable." More than three-quarters (79%) of ABC respondents say that being an ABC has improved or enhanced their resume. More than half of ABCs (53%) say that since being accredited, they ensure that evaluation, measurement and monitoring are part of their plans. Meanwhile, IABC Chair Todd Hattori, ABC, has selected Meryl David, ABC, as the recipient of the 2008 Chairman's Award. The award recognizes members who have demonstrated initiative and leadership at the international level to enhance the association's image, facilitate member development and benefit the communication profession.
