Celebrate the Fourth of July with the MWR Freedom
Celebrate our Nation’s birthday with fireworks, friends
and family as MWR hosts the Saturn of Clarksville Freedom Fest ’08. Join us
July 1 through 6 at the Division Parade Field, where you can stroll through
the midway, have an adventure on one of the Belle City Amusement
carnival rides and feast on traditional carnival food and drinks.
The official July 4 ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. with an invocation,
followed by a performance by the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Parachute
Demonstration Team, and the presentation of the Colors. To top off the
day, the 300th Reserve Band from Bell, California will perform the National
Anthem just before the fireworks display lights up the sky.
Individual ride tickets will be available for $1 or you may purchase a sheet
of 25 tickets for $20. July 1 is Dollar Day and all rides are just $1 each. July
2-6, armbands may be purchased in lieu of tickets for unlimited midway
rides. The Saturn of Clarksville Freedom Fest ’08 times and specials are:
    • July 1: Dollar Day, Carnival Midway 6 p.m. - 11 p.m.
    • July 2: Armbands $17, Carnival Midway 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.
    • July 3: Armbands $15, Carnival Midway 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.
    • July 4: Armbands $20, Carnival Midway 2 p.m.-Midnight
    • July 5: Armbands $17, Carnival Midway 1 p.m.-Midnight
    • July 6: Armbands $15, Carnival Midway 1 p.m.-6 p.m.
No glass bottles, cans, pets, outside food or outside alcohol will be
permitted. An adult or guardian must accompany all children under 18
years of age. Patrons with non-decal vehicles who will be attending the
carnival on July 1-3, or July 5 – 6 must obtain a visitor’s pass at Gate 4.
Guests who will be attending the carnival on July 4th must obtain their
visitor’s pass at Gate 7 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 10 p.m. Drivers
must present a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and vehicle
registration to obtain a visitor’s pass. Anyone over the age of 16 must
present a photo ID upon entering the installation.

D.W. Rec and BOSS Host HALO 3 Tournament
Gamers unite! The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) Program
and the Dale E. Wayrynen Community Recreation Center will host an
Xbox 360 HALO 3 Tournament on Saturday, June 21 beginning at 1 p.m.
Registration will begin at 12 p.m. that day; however eligible participants
(authorized MWR patrons ages 18 and older with valid
military/government ID) are encouraged to pre-register for a chance to
win a $75 Best Buy gift card. Winners of the tournament will receive an
Xbox 360 Elite Game System for first place, a $250 Best Buy gift card for 2nd

Summer Fun in July at D.W. Recreation Center
Are you looking for fun activities to get you out of the summer heat? Look
no further than D.W. Rec., your one stop entertainment center.
The recreation center will be open on Friday, July 4 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Stop in for an afternoon of fun before visiting the Saturn of Clarksville
Freedom Fest carnival and fireworks show at the Division Parade Field.
Help BOSS and the recreation center on Sunday, July 6 at 2 p.m. as they
prepare care packages to send to deployed single Soldiers. Do not miss
this great opportunity to support Fort Campbell’s deployed Soldiers.
On Sunday, July 13 D.W. Rec. is hosting a Post Wide Spades Tournament
starting at 2 p.m. All eligible MWR patrons are invited to participate.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three challengers.
July 14 – 25, the recreation center will be hosting Camp We Can. The
center’s hours of operation will temporarily change to Monday through
Friday from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. during the two weeks of camp. D.W. Rec. will
resume normal operating hours, 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Monday, July 28.
Weekend hours, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday will remain the
same during this time frame.
D.W. Rec. is hosting a Make Your Own Sundae event on Sunday, July 20 at
3 p.m. Ice cream and a wide variety of toppings will be available for all to
enjoy. Come out of the heat and indulge in all your favorite toppings.
Are you craving great Italian food, but you are on a budget? D.W. Rec.
has just what you need to satisfy your taste buds. Come to D.W. Rec. on
Saturday, July 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy a night in Italy with food

Get ready to rumble as D.W. Rec. presents Madden NFL 08 Tournament

Learn about Self Defense with the Spouses’ Yellow Ribbon Support Group
Spouses and Family Members of deployed Soldiers are invited to attend
the next monthly meeting of the Spouses’ Yellow Ribbon Support Group at
the Family Resource Center (FRC), located at 1501 William C. Lee Blvd.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 24 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
For the month of June, the Spouses’ Yellow Ribbon Support Group is
featuring a guest visitor, Jim Knoll, who will educate participants on
various techniques for self defense.

If you are looking for a great way to beat the summer heat, visit D.W.

On Friday, June 20, D.W. Rec. will host a Spades Jamboree starting at 8
p.m., lasting until the party ends. Enjoy an evening of spades, music and
refreshments with trophies being awarded to the top three winners. See

D.W. Rec. will be hosting a Post-wide Domino Tournament on Sunday,
June 22, at 2 p.m. This tournament is open to all MWR patrons and trophies

Get ready for D.W. Rec.’s Purity Ice Cream and Candy Land Party on
Sunday, June 29, at 3 p.m. Enjoy a fun filled afternoon of ice cream and
all your favorite toppings while watching contestants participate in Purity’s
Brain Freeze Contest. If you feel up to the challenge, the Brain Freeze
Contest is open to all MWR patrons, sign up to see if you could win a
year’s supply of ice cream! After gorging yourself on ice cream, join in a
game of Candy Land played on a 40” X 40” playing board. Various prizes
will be awarded from the Purity “Got Milk?” campaign. This wonderful

Dive into Swim Lessons at Gardner Indoor Pool
Swimming offers endless health benefits ranging from improving
cardiovascular conditioning, muscle strength, endurance, posture, and
flexibility. Set your little ones on the road to a healthy life style by enrolling
them in swimming lessons at Gardner Indoor Pool. Classes will be offered
at the end of May and through out the months of June and July at various
times to accommodate even the most stringent schedule. Sign up for May
and June classes began April 21 and sign up for July classes will begin
June 1.
Several different skill levels are offered ranging from beginners to the
skilled swimmer seeking guidance on technique. Swim lessons are
available for ages 6 months and up.
The summer sessions are June 23 – July 3, July 7 – 17 and July 21 – July 31.
The times of the lessons varies based on the skill level. The cost of the swim

NAF Job Fair at Sportsman’s Lodge
The NAF Job Fair takes place at Sportsman’s Lodge located at 6663
Sportsman’s Lane. NAF Job Fairs will now be held on the 1st Tuesday of
each month only, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The second Job Fair usually held
on the third Tuesday of each month has been cancelled until further
notice. Applications for positions will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Interested applicants who wish to use their spouse preference should
bring a copy of their marriage certificate and their PCS orders. Those who

Hang Out and Read at R.F. Sink Library
Develop your children’s imagination by enrolling them in R.F. Sink Library’s
Summer Reading Program. This year's theme "Hang Out and Read" will
center on monkeys! The Summer Reading Program is open to children
entering kindergarten through fourth grade. Registration is available June
1 through June 30.
Children will gather at the R.F. Sink Library from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on
Wednesday July 2, 9, 16 and 23. On Wednesday July 30 at 11:30 a.m., the
Library will host a party at the Dale Wayrynen Recreation Center. Children
who have read 10 books or had 10 books read to them will be presented
with a reading certificate. The Summer Reading Program is FREE so do not
monkey around, sign your children up for great stories at R.F. Sink Library
this summer.

Tennessee Titans tickets on sale at ITR
Fort Campbell football fans, it’s time to dust off those recliners and start
popping the popcorn! Football season is coming! Is there any better way
to start the season than with tickets to see the Tennessee Titans?
Information Ticketing and Reservations (ITR) Leisure Travel has got you
The Random Online Registration for individual season pass will be July 1-15.
Ten numbers will be drawn and posted on July 17 at 10 a.m. which go on
sale August 2. Random Online Registration for the second five home
games will be available October 1-15, and will go on sale October 18.
Individuals randomly chosen for the second set of home games will be
posted on October 16, 10:00 a.m. at ITR Leisure Travel office as well. The

ITR Leisure Travel has 10 pairs of season passes and 50 individual tickets per
game. The 10 pairs of season passes are available for $750 per pair. The
remaining individual game tickets will be split into two different groups.
The first 5 games are available for $65 per ticket for pre-season games
held on Saturday, August 9 and Saturday, August 16 at 7 p.m. The first half
season individual tickets are available for $80 per ticket for the regular
season games on September 7, 21 and 28.
There is a limit of four tickets per family for one game or two tickets per
family for two games. ITR Leisure Travel has limited tickets available for the
season which will be given to Government ID card holders first. Remaining
tickets will then be available to the general public.

July Meeting of Fort Campbell MWR Fishing Club
Grab your reels and rods! Fort Campbell’s Fishing Club, “Stump Jumpers”
are having their next meeting at the Fort Campbell Outdoor Recreation
Wohali Pavilion on Wednesday, July 23 at 6 p.m. This club is open to all
anglers from the novice to the seasoned pro. EVERYONE is welcome to
join and club membership is FREE! Interested parties must be authorized
Morale, Welfare, and Recreation patrons and children under age 13 must
be accompanied by an adult.
Future meeting dates for the “Stump Jumpers” are August 20 and
September 17. These meetings will also be held at the Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell MWR Riding Stables Summer Camp
Do you have a child or teenager that has an interest in horses? If so, the
Fort Campbell Riding Stables has the Summer Camp just for them!
Children and teens ages 10 to 17 years old can enjoy a week filled with
daily trail rides, and sessions on how to care for these gentle creatures.
Sessions will include ground manners, general equine knowledge,
grooming and saddling of a horse, as well as daily trial rides and games.
Registration began May 1, and there are eight 5-day sessions available.
Sessions are limited to 10 participants per session. Classes will run from 9
a.m. until 3 p.m. each day, and are scheduled as follows.

   • July 7-11
   • July 14-18

Fort Campbell MWR and Sportsman’s Lodge Rolls out BUNCO
"The game that's sweeping the Nation" - BUNCO! In recent years, BUNCO
has seen an increase in popularity in America. This social dice game
involving 100% luck is now coming to Fort Campbell. The World Bunco
Association has partnered with MWR and Sportsman’s Lodge to host
BUNCO competitions on Friday, June 27, themed “Fashion and
Accessories Night” from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Tournaments will be held at the
Sportsman’s Lodge located at 6633 Sportsman’s Lane.
No experience is necessary to play. Simply call to make your reservations
or just show up! A special drawing will take place for individuals who
reserved in advance. Fashion and Accessories Night prizes include $75
Coldwater Creek gift card for most wins, $50 DSW Shoe Warehouse gift

Scrumptious Snacks at the 19th Hole Snack Bar
With spring in full swing, you may find yourself spending more and more
time at the Cole Park Golf Club. When you’re taking a break from the
course, why not stop in at the 19th Hole Snack Bar to enjoy some of their
delicious new sandwiches? The new and improved menu at the 19th Hole
now includes Sausage and Egg Sandwiches, BBQ Pork Sandwiches, ¼ lb

Get up, get out and get fit! Operation Fit 4 Life, a fitness based program, is
designed to help you lose weight, get fit, relieve stress, have fun and win

Guided Trail Rides at Fort Campbell Riding Stables
Get ready for cowboy boots, hats, and saddles! MWR’s Fort Campbell
Riding Stables are gearing up their horses for the spring! Come out and
enjoy the beautiful weather while trotting with one of these amazing
creatures. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, then join us! The
Fort Campbell Riding Stables will be offering guided trail rides for $20 per
person, and there are several ride times available for you to choose from!
Rides are scheduled for 9 a.m. – 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m.-2
p.m., and 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. So come relax and take in the scenery
while a friendly horse takes you through a trail of wonders. Please

Sergeants’ Time Training at Fort Campbell Paintball Field
Squad Leaders, do your Soldiers need practice moving under direct fire or
with individual movement techniques? How about taking your Troops to
Fort Campbell Paintball Field where you have three playing fields on 50
acres to train. Sergeants’ Time Training is available on Thursdays and
Fridays by appointment (time is at the Unit’s discretion).
Prices are $12 per player or $22 for rental and 500 paintballs. All rentals
consist of a Tippmann 98 custom semi-automatic paintball gun, a mask
and one 12oz. CO2 tank. Half cases containing 1,000 rounds for $25 and

Payday Golf Scramble
As if payday weren’t exciting enough, Cole Park Golf Club is hosting
Payday Golf Scrambles. This exciting team competition where players
play the best ball of a team member after every stroke is a great way to
get out and enjoy some friendly competition. Cole Park Golf Club
Members pay $20 per player while non members’ fees are $25 per player.
Entry fees are due at registration (five days prior). Interested parties can
sign up at The Pro Shop. The dates for the Payday Golf Scramble will be
the 1st of July and August, the 15th of September and the 1st of October.
Each scramble will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Registration is available at

MWR Buddy Birthday Club Membership is Free
Calling all boys and girls 10 years of age and younger! Join MWR’s Buddy
Birthday Club and receive a birthday surprise. Birthday children will be
personally invited to celebrate their birthdays at a special birthday party
hosted by MWR’s loveable mascot, Buddy! Members of the Buddy
Birthday Club will receive an official Buddy Birthday Club membership
button and a special birthday gift from Buddy. The Club is free to join and
open to all children in the Fort Campbell military community who are age
ten and younger. Club parties are held every other month in MWR

CYS Reservation Policy for “Friday Night Out” and “Super Saturday”
Child and Youth Services (CYS) announce their new reservation policy for
deployment child care programs “Friday Night Out” and “Super Saturday”
This policy goes into effect on January 1, 2008. Family Members of
deployed Soldiers who plan to utilize Friday Night Out and Super Saturday
free child care must make their reservations by 5 pm on the Thursday
preceding the event date. This improvement is to ensure that the staffing
ratios of caregivers to children are appropriate to accommodate the
safety of your little ones, and to provide the best possible programs and
activities for the children to enjoy. Children must be registered with CYS
Central Enrollment to participate in these programs.
An MWR Spouse Discount Card is also required to use Friday Night Out
and Super Saturday child care. This card is only for Spouses of Soldiers who

Super Saturdays with CYS
Child and Youth Services offer respite childcare two Saturdays each
month and one Friday night each month. The next Super Saturday is
coming up on June 21from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All parents who have an MWR
Spouse Discount Card are eligible for this service, and children must be
registered with CYS. If your child is already enrolled please make your
reservations by calling Taylor Youth Center at (270)798-3643 for children in
kindergarten through the fifth grade or by calling the Child Development
Center for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old at (270) 439-7996. If your

Friday Night Out with CYS
Moms and dads need a break from time to time, especially during
deployment. Child and Youth Services offers respite childcare one Friday
night of each month for children of deployed Soldiers. An MWR Spouse
Discount Card is also required to take advantage of this free child care.
Come join us for arts & crafts, organized fitness activities, computer fun,
games and more! A snack will be provided. Your child must be registered
with CYS Central Enrollment. If child is already enrolled, please call Taylor
Youth Center or the Child Development Center to make your reservation.

Sink Library has Free Books for Soldiers
Sometimes a good book is the best way to wind down at the end of a
stressful day or pass the time during a long wait. While some may prefer a
good love story, others need a comedy or even some science fiction to
help them escape the daily grind. Starting now, the R.F. Sink Library is
offering free books for Soldiers who are deployed or deploying. These
brand new paperback books are organized into Book Kits and will be
given out to any Unit with Soldiers deploying or already deployed. These
kits contain an assortment of fiction and non fiction books. To get these
free book kits for your Unit, send a Unit representative to the R. F. Sink
Library at 38 Screaming Eagle Boulevard and the friendly staff will help
load the appropriate number of kits into your vehicle. Units who are
already deployed can also take advantage of this great program by
sending an email to and putting “book kit
request” in the subject line.

Children’s Story Time and Activity Hour
Join R.F. Sink Library every Thursday for Children’s Story Time and Activity
Hour. Each week there is a new story to spark young imaginations with
Story Time. Children may attend the morning session from 10:30 a.m. until
11:30 a.m. or wait until the afternoon session from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Story
time is followed by Activity Hour where children can participate in a new

Gear-To-Go’s Extreme Party Package
Take your party or unit function to the next level with Gear-To-Go’s
Extreme Party Package. This package includes six tables, 30 chairs, and
your choice of two inflatables and one party game to be delivered to
your party site and assembled. Gear-To-Go’s game attendants then stay
to manage the equipment and ensure your party will be four hours of safe
and enjoyable fun. Game items to choose from include the Rockwall,
Bungee Bull, and the Gyrosphere. The cost for the Extreme Party Package

Weekly Tournaments
There is never a dull moment at D.W. Rec. Join them each and every
week for weekly tournaments. Mondays feature a 9-Ball Tournament at 7
p.m. and WWE at 8 p.m. PS2 Fight Night Round 3 is every Tuesday at 7pm.
Wednesdays at 7 p.m. is the dart tournament and the cards are flying on
Thursday night with the Spades Tournament that begins at 6:30 p.m. On
Fridays, test your skills with the Table Tennis tournament at 7 p.m. and rack
‘em up on Saturday afternoon as the 8-Ball Tournament kicks off at 2 p.m.

Fort Campbell’s Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) is always planning
events, activities, festivals and concerts to support the Fort Campbell
Soldiers and families. MWR restaurants and facilities are also busy
planning ways to entertain and provide for the Fort Campbell Soldiers and

School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration, and Skills (SKIESUnlimited)
offers a wide variety of programs that will unlock your child’s potential.

New hours posted for Dawg Haus
The seasons are changing and so are the hours for the Dawg Haus. The
restaurant will now be open for lunch only. Patrons can enjoy great meals
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays and closed on Saturday s and
Sunday. The Dawg Haus is also available for booking private functions
and reservations anytime outside of the regular lunch hours.
