     14.00 - meeting and Registration (at Youth Hostel Piero Rotta,
     via Salmoiraghi 1, Milano)
     Welcome from the International Office of Politecnico di Milano
     During the afternoon – Guided visit of the “IlSole24Ore
     headquarter” designed by arch. Renzo Piano and at the exhibition in
     Triennale: “Frank O. Gehry dal 1997”
     Welcome drink downtown (happy hour)

Sunday, November 15th
     Guided visit of the city
     the meeting point will be in front of Sant’Ambrogio Church at
     10.00
     ( The church is located in piazza Sant’Ambrogio 1. you can
     reach it by metro with MM2 green line S-Ambrogio metro
     station)

    Railway Station, the train leaves at 10.20)
    Transfer to hotel in Lecco – Malgrate
    Welcome in Lecco and introduction to the programme

    Visit of the Fieramilano grounds and hotel in Milano (Massimiliano
    Fuksas, Dominique Perrault).
    Presentation and visit of the energy-efficient demo-house Atìka by
    Velux.
    Visit of some building-site in Milan

     Station, the train leaves at 9.57)
     Further visit of the city of Milano (other interesting historical
     buildings and the new Bocconi University).

Costs

Total costs to be paid us cash at the registration meeting are:
   • € 30 ED activities (the price includes social and cultural
      activities, museums and trips to Milano during the week)
   • € 170 for accommodation in both Milano and Lecco

Money must be given cash in Euros


Politecnico di Milano will also offer the Aperitivo on Saturday and
on Friday


All trasports in Milano, transports from/to the airport/railway
stations at arrival/departure, transports and meals in Lecco not
included.


Housing in Milano and Lecco

Athens students (who requested housing in the application form or by e-
mail) have been reserved an hotel booking at Youth Hostel Piero Rotta
in Milano for the week-end and at Hotel Promessi Sposi in Malgrate
from Monday to Friday.

Easily reachable from Centrale railway station, where you can take the
metro yellow line, direction San Donato, and get out at stop Duomo
In Duomo, take the red line direction Molino Dorino –RHO Fiera and
get out at stop QT8. The hostel is about 300mt. from the metro station.

Lunch and evening meals

During you stay at the Politecnico di Milano – both in Milano and at
campus Lecco, you have to arrange your lunch and evening meals, with
the exception of Friday evening.

Meals are not included in the sum you will pay for social activities.

For cheap meals we recommend to have:

     lunch – Mensa Self Service, Stazione FS – piazza lega Lombarda
     1, Lecco
1 complete meal costs about 6.50€

Travel

Airports
There are 3 main airports in Milano and its surroundings: Linate,
Malpensa, Orio al Serio.
From the airport, you can reach Milano as following:
1) Linate
   a) Bus to Centrale Railway Station every 30 minutes form 6.05 to
      23.45. One-way ticket 2.50€ to buy on board or at Agenzia
      Starfly Linate
   b) Bus n° 73 to Piazza s. Babila every 10 minutes from 6.05 to
      00.55 One-way ticket 1€ to buy in bars, newspapepers kiosks or
      tobacconist’s.
      To reach the Hostel from S.Babila you have to take the metro- red
      line in S. Babila direction Molino Dorino –RHO Fiera and get out
      at stop QT8. The hostel is about 300mt. from the metro station.
      Malpensa
   c) Train Malpensa Express to Cadorna railway station every 30
      minutes from Terminal 1. One –way ticket 11.00€
      To reach the Hostel from Cadorna you have to take the metro- red
      line in Cadorna direction Molino Dorino –RHO Fiera and get out
      at stop QT8. The hostel is about 300mt. from the metro station.

   d) Malpensa Bus Express to Centrale railway station twice per hour
       (at minutes *.35 and *.55) from 6.35 to 23.35 from Terminal 1,
       exit 6, stop n° 3. One-way ticket 5.50€ to buy on board. It stops
       at Terminal 2.
   e) Shuttle Air Pullman to Centrale railway station every 20 minutes
       from 5.30 to 00.15. from Terminal 1, exit 6. One-way ticket
       4.50€ to buy on board. It stops at Terminal 2.
2) Orio al Serio
   a) Bus to Centrale railway station, 27 daily trips from 8.30 to
       01.00. One-way ticket 6.70€ (6.00 € if bought at Biglietteria
       Autostradale in the airport)
   b) Bus to Lambrate railway station, 18 daily trips from 05.35 to
       23.50. One-way ticket 6.00€.
   To reach the Hotel to Lambrate you can take directly the metro- green
   line in Lambrate, direction Abbiategrasso, and get out at stop Loreto. In
   Loreto, you have to take the metro- red line, direction Molino Dorino
   –RHO Fiera and get out at stop QT8. The hostel is about 300mt.
   from the metro station.


TRANSPORTS IN MILANO
Tariffs for metro and surface transports are the same.
The urban network ticket costs 1€ and it is valid for 75 minutes on all
lines (but it cannot be used twice on the metro if you get out of the
metro station).
Tickets are sold in newspapers kiosks, bars, tobacconist’s and it cannot
be bought o board.
Public transportations run every day from 6.00 to midnight, but some
buses provide nocturnal service.
The are also tourist tickets:
24h tickets cost 3€
48h tickets cost 5.50 €
10-ticket carnets cost 9.20€

We kindly recommend you to buy the 48h ticket, since it will e easier
and less expensive to use it in Milano.

Health Insurance form
If you are an EU citizen, during your stay, you can benefit from the Italian
health care service. You have to provide yourself with the E111 form
before your departure.

Student visa
If you are a non EU citizen, you have to provide yourself with a temporary
student visa.
