Even as it is being pressed by a federal agency to invest significantly more in clean energy technologies, Canada has a comparatively good track record when compared with the other G20 countries. The call for more investment has been issued by Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) in a new report, the release of which coincided with publication of the G20 assessment by the Washington-based Pew Charitable Trusts. The SDTC report, Cleantech Growth & Go-to-Market Report, found that the clean energy sector grew at an annual rate of 47% in 2008-2009 and projected that that growth rate would nearly triple in 2010-2012.
