The Nurse Educator Workforce Development Advisory Council has charged the National League for Nursing (NLN) Task Group (TG) on Leadership in Nursing Education with "developing a comprehensive plan to guide NLN efforts aimed at developing a cadre of leaders in nursing education." Although nurse faculty leaders are necessary to move the profession forward, there is little evidence to guide the development of such leaders.
