This article recalls a personality of the Nobel price winner, Milton Friedman, who significantly influenced macroeconomic theory and economic policy in an outright original approach to a range of economic problems. Milton Friedman had merit in working out the methodology of economics towards positivism, in further theoretical and empirical analyses of consumption function on the basis of permanent income hypothesis. One of the main contributions was a revival of Quantity Theory of Money and Friedman's interpretation in a new quantity theory. Friedman opened new insight on Philips curve and economic policy.
