A study from the United Kingdom has noted an increased risk of psychosis and mood changes in individuals who had ever used cannabis, the ingredient in marijuana. Researchers conducted a systematic review to determine whether long-term use of marijuana caused psychotic or affective (mood) symptoms. Their findings were consistent with a dose-response effect (the higher the dose, the greater the effect), and the risk was higher in subjects who used marijuana more frequently.
