A press release from the Scottish Government at the end of January 2008 outlines a new zero waste initiative, which introduces stricter targets for diversion. As part of the zero waste plan, Scottish Government Environment Secretary Richard Lochhead has promised to make L2.5 million/year available over the next three years, and will set up a Zero Waste Think Tank.
