Double Shielded Cables by ProQuest

The next step up is a double shield, either a double braid or a combination foil/braid shield, with the shields grounded at both ends. While the shields could be dielectrically isolated, as with the above shields, this is not as effective as having both shields in intimate conductive contact along the entire cable. In particular, foil is very difficult to terminate effectively - you need a circumferential termination. This is almost impossible to do with foil and makes for a very unreliable connection.
