Saguisag talks about Filipino writers and their idea of audience in the Philippines. Many of their books deal with the experiences of upper- and middle-class children, and the occasional story that tries to depict the life of a needy child which is sometimes awkward in its approach. She can't say that they're failures because of their choice of audience but what she think is that the community should consider writing more stories for the vast majority who are poor, and should work to keep the body of literature inclusive rather than exclusive.
