International Backlight 08 Photo Festival (13 September – 16 November)
The international Backlight 08 Photo Festival comprises of two parts: exhibitions and a
Symposium.

The exhibitions are implemented as a network. Exhibitions in Austria, Finland, Italy and Poland
form the Backlight ensemble that features the photographic and video works of 56 artists.

Once the Backlight 08 Photo Festival is over, the works will tour around the galleries of the
Backlight organizers and partners in different parts of Europe between 1 December 2008 and 19
April 2009 as well as from 10 June 2009 to 31 July 2009. The programme for the exhibitions will be
ready in the autumn.

At the end of the project, Backlight 08 will exhibit a representative selection of works from all the
exhibitions in the Lodz Art Center in Poland in May 2009.
