Member Center/4Sight Online System Requirements
SFAF will support schools that meet the minimum system requirements listed below. I. Basic Computer Hardware/Software: Windows 2000 or later, Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, Netscape 7.0 or later, Firefox 1.5 or later Mac OSX or later, Netscape 7.0 or later, Firefox 1.5 or later (OSX only) 256 MB of RAM Monitor: 17” or larger, screen resolution of 1024 x 768 preferred.
II. Network and Server Settings at School: Broadband Internet access capable of transmitting at least 256 kilobits per second during peak internet usage times. To check this at the school, go to a student computer in the computer lab during peak internet usage times (morning and afternoon), open an internet browser and go to http://infospeed.verizon.net/. Follow the instructions in the pop-up window. Be sure to look at your speed in KBits/Sec. SSL is enabled and permitted on port 443 Ability to open a standard http:// and https:// web connection (TCP/IP Port 80) to SFAF’s websites. Network and server firewalls set to allow SFAF websites through the firewall. If your school uses a proxy server, caching must be disabled for SFAF websites on the server and on all computers.
III. Individual Computer and Internet Options Settings: JavaScript and cookies are enabled. Signed java applets or active X controls are enabled and permitted. Pop-up window blocking is turned off or disabled for the Member Center domain. Cookies and temporary internet files have been deleted. Set to check for new versions of stored web pages upon every visit to the page. Security is set to empty temporary internet files when internet browser is closed. Desktop caching is disabled. Be sure to check for caching in any virus protection software on the desktop as well. Desktop firewalls set to allow SFAF websites through the firewall.
