SESSION HIGHLIGHTS:
CPR: Adult, Child & Infant Resuscitation, Clinical & Biological Death, Heart Health, Choking, Defibrillation

FIRST AID: OSHA Standard First Aid & Emergency Care, Assess, Alert & Attend, Life Threatening Conditions, Triage,
Bloodborne Pathogens, Bleeding Control, Shock, Burns, Bone Injuries, Poisons, Bites & Stings, Exposure, Good
Samaritan Laws.

CONFINED SPACE AWARENESS: Course content to include information regarding identifying confined space and
permit required confined spaces, the hazards of confined spaces, regulations regarding confined space entries and
rescues, personnel and equipment requirements etc. Manipulative training to include atmospheric monitoring, ventilation
procedures, communications equipment and procedures, lock-out/tag-out, entrant harnessing and retrieval systems,
victim packaging and retrieval techniques, etc.

Participants will earn 7 safety hours. Up to 25% of contact hours for license renewal can be safety hours.

INSTRUCTOR: DOUG DAVENPORT
Doug was a combat medic with the US Army in 1970. He was an instructor for the American Red Cross for over 10 years.
Doug has also taught a 40 hour First Responder course through Lassen Community College. He is currently an instructor
for American Health & Safety, Inc. Doug completed the National Association of Safety Professionals training on Trench
Safety. He also attended the Confined Space Train the Trainer at the Safety Center in Sacramento, as well as the
Competent Person Excavation training.
