AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO
A REAL ESTATE CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF
APPROXIMATELY 2,850 LINEAL FEET OF FORMER RAILROAD
PROPERTY FROM HAWKEYE LAND CO. ADJACENT TO THE
          CROSSROADS CORPORATE CENTER

Whereas, the City of Cameron has purchased and developed, through tax
increment financing and other means, the Crossroads Corporate Center for the purpose of
promoting economic development through business attraction and business retention; and

Whereas, such investment and development in the Center has produced ten active
business enterprises with over 270 jobs producing $1,150,000 in annual local sales and
real estate taxes plus infrastructure improvements including a water tower and utility
extensions which serve and benefit a greater portion of the City of Cameron; and

Whereas, former railroad property along the west boundary poses an impediment
to future commercial development within and adjacent to the Center; and

Whereas, acquisition of said property by the City would encourage and promote

DeKalb Counties, Missouri as follows:
