Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Sites
Coordinated by C.A.$.H. (creating assets, saving and hope) of the Greater Capital Region
How can you help?
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites in the Capital Region are in need of
volunteers to assist in providing free tax assistance to hundreds of low to middle
Each year millions of dollars of Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) go unclaimed.
VITA sites put money back in the hands of the people who have earned it. The
VITA site volunteers are responsible for helping eligible persons complete tax
forms electronically, assuring accuracy of filing and checking that all applicable
credits get claimed.
A thorough training is provided, and prior tax and finance experience is helpful, but
not necessary. Upon completion of training, volunteers will be IRS certified to
complete tax forms and assist others with their tax needs.
