According to Dan Misleh, executive director of the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change, since promulgation of the U.S. bishops' 2001 statement, "Global Climate Change: A Plea for Dialogue, Prudence and the Common Good," U.S. bishops have continued to call on us to reclaim our moral and ethical responsibility by becoming prophetic environmental leaders on the local, national and global scene because the stance is a promotion of the common good of all God's people and the protection of poor people in our own country and around the world. Not only learning about, but living with, a sustainable disposition each day of our lives needs to be paramount in every decision. [...] when a question is asked "Why Catholic schools?"one response is our prophetic and consistent stance on the greening of tomorrow's leaders and citizens emerging from model green schools.
