Beyond the director of enrollment (recruiter), consideration at the high school level should be given to an administrative assistant, a special events coordinator (shadow program, tours, home visits), an identified retention specialist (often a part-time responsibility) and a marketing or public relations person if one does not exist in the institutional advancement area. A special events coordinator will oversee the one or two major fundraising activities each year as well as work with parent and alumni groups when they are involved with fund raising. An alumni director will coordinate class reunions and regional reunions and maintain constant communication with alumni throughout the country through email, phone calls, publications and personal visits.
