IMPORTANT!!! Prior to installing this software, exit all applications including any CEREC programs.
1 Power off the CEREC Milling unit. Power switch is located in the rear of
unit. Next, Boot the CEREC Acquisition unit. Insert the CEREC 3D Software.
The installer will automatically run. Select the desired language and click
2 Next, if you are upgrading from a previous version you may see a dialogue
box with the following: “This version of CEREC requires the latest camera
driver. Click OK to proceed with the update.” Acknowledge the window by click-
ing “OK.” If you do not see this dialogue box, proceed to step 5.
3 Next, a Hardware Installation dialogue box will appear. Click “Continue
Anyway.” The computer will now reboot. 2
4 At the next window, select “Next.”
5 At the License Agreement window, select “Yes.”
6 Setup Type. Choose “Standard Installation.” Installation now begins.
7 Display Readme File. Uncheck “Display Readme File” and click Finish.
8 DO NOT OPEN CEREC 3D AT THIS TIME.

Downloading Software to Milling Unit
9 Verify that the milling unit is turned off and that the CEREC 3D software is closed.
10 Open the lower front door of the milling unit. Locate the
reset button on the metal plate on the right side. With one
hand, press the reset button in and hold, with the other
hand turn on the milling unit. Continue holding the reset
button for 10 seconds, then release.
11 On the acquisition unit, open the CEREC 3D software by double-clicking on the desktop
icon. After the software opens, the following message should appear in the lower right corner of
the application: Downloading Software to Milling Unit. After 1-4 minutes, the message will

Database and 3D Manual CD’s, install them next
by following the on screen prompts.
You are now ready to use your new software.
Note: If you see the dialogue box below when you attempt
to mill your first restoration, please repeat the operations
as described from step 9 above.
