Structure:
The Corporate Services Branch is led by the General Manager, who is a member of
Comcare‟s Executive. The branch is made up of five sections

Corporate Services Branch
Corporate Services Branch provides a broad range of advice, services and support. It
takes a lead role in ensuring that Comcare meets its corporate responsibilities as well
as working with other branches to enable the achievement of core business objectives.

Human Resources Section provides operational and strategic services to Comcare to
support organisational delivery of business outcomes. The Section comprises of the
following teams:

* Strategic Recruitment
* Industrial Relations and Personnel
* Workplace Health and Safety
* Organisational Learning and Development
* Workforce Planning and HR Strategy
* HR Projects

HR strives to further improve elements of workforce design through innovative
planning and strategy development. This requires individuals who excel at building
productive relationships with the Comcare Executive and engaging stakeholders to
consider workforce needs as part of their ongoing business.

The HR Section has been awarded the ACT HR Impact Award for 2008 – this award
is awarded to organisations (both public and private) by the Australian Human
Resource Institute for “recognising the performance and impact of a HR Department
as measured by company KPIs related to the output of a HR function and standard
people management metrics benchmarked against Australian norms.”

Who is Comcare looking for?
Comcare is seeking highly motivated people with broad HR experience to occupy
positions within Human Resource Services. These positions have leadership and
management roles in Comcare and you will be working closely with managers to
assist the organisation to move forward. You will personally deliver and supervise
the delivery of high quality, timely and cost-effective HR services to managers in a
range of areas.

To be successful in these roles, you will need to have excellent strategic and
analytical skills, a record of achieving results, personal drive and integrity, the ability
to cultivate productive working relationships and high level communication skills.
You will also have the capacity, flexibility and willingness to perform in and move
between jobs in any functional area of Comcare.

Applicants interested in applying for these positions will require experience in the
areas of payroll, employment relations and strategic and operational recruitment in
addition to managing a small team. Skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
applications and HRIMS (Aurion) are highly desirable.

Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in HR or related field and relevant experience
would be highly regarded.

Other conditions:
The successful applicants may be required to undertake interstate travel.

    and ACT Government employees in accordance with the SRC Act;
   assist the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (the SRC
    Commission) in the performance of its statutory functions; and
   Manage the Commonwealth‟s common law liabilities for asbestos-related disease.

Structure

The Chief Executive Officer of Comcare is Mr Martin Dolan. He is assisted in the
strategic leadership of the agency by a Deputy CEO, five General Managers and the
position of General Counsel. Comcare is structured around the following Branches:

   APS CODE OF CONDUCT

    An APS employee must behave honestly and with integrity in the course of
     APS employment
    An APS employee must act with care and diligence in the course of APS
     employment
    An APS employee, when acting in the course of APS employment, must treat
     everyone with respect and courtesy, and without harassment.
    An APS employee, when acting in the course of APS employment, must
     comply with all applicable Australian laws. For this purpose, Australian law
     means any Act or an instrument made under an Act or any law of a State or
     Territory, including any instrument made under such law.
    An APS employee must comply with any lawful and reasonable direction
     given by someone in the employee‟s Agency who has authority to give the
     direction.
    An APS employee must maintain appropriate confidentiality about dealings
     that the employee has with any Minister or Minister‟s member of staff.
    An APS employee must disclose, and take reasonable steps to avoid, any
     conflict of interest (real or apparent) in connection with APS employment.
    An APS employee must not provide false or misleading information in
     response to a request for information that is made for official purposes in
     connection with the employee‟s APS employment.
    An APS employee must not make improper use of inside information or the
     employee‟s duties, status, power or authority in order to gain, or seek to gain,
     a benefit or advantage for the employee or for ay other person.
    An APS employee must at all times behave in a way that upholds the APS
     Values and the integrity and good reputation of the APS.
    An APS employee on duty overseas must at all times behave in a way that
     upholds the good reputation of Australia.
    An APS employee must comply with any other conduct requirement that is
     prescribed by the regulations.

The Code of Conduct is set out in Section 13 of the Public Service Act 1999.

information without authority (ie information communicated in confidence or where
disclosure could be prejudicial to the effective working of government). APS

Comcare uses merit in our competitive selection process. The standard process
involves assessing a person against the selection criteria for the relevant position.
Comcare‟s processes are likely to take approximately eight weeks for short listing,
interviewing, reference checking and offers to be made.

Your statement of claims addressing the selection criteria:

Your application provides a first point of contact with the Selection Panel. Submit a
brief covering letter and include your Resume and a Statement of Claims against the

longer than a page.
