Entry Rules:
   Submissions will be divided into two age groups: 6-8 and 9-11.
   You do not have to be a Kahani subscriber to participate, but must live outside the Indian subcontinent.
   Your story must include the words uncle, castle & kite. Only one submission per child, please.
  Maximum length is 500 words. Your story must be typed (Times New Roman, 12 font size) and double-
    spaced. Include the writer’s name, age, and parent e-mail address on the first page.
  All submissions must be e-mailed as an attachment to contest@kahani.com by Sunday, November 29,
   2009. Use a parent e-mail address to send the story, please. (E-mail submissions separately if more than
   one child is participating.)
  Every submission must have this signed entry form. It must be snail mailed to Kahani and postmarked by
  Sunday, November 29, 2009. Any story without an entry form will be automatically disqualified. (Submit a
  separate entry form for each child participating.)
  One winner from each of the two age groups will be announced at the end of January 2010.

By entering Kahani’s Fifth Annual Young Writers Contest, I give permission for Kahani Media to use this
work, which will be credited to the author, for, but not limited to, display, promotion, reproduction and
distribution in all media and the right to create, display and distribute derivative works. I also give Kahani
Media the right to use the author’s name, likeness and biographical material in connection with the work.

I release Kahani magazine, Kahani Media and its officers and directors from any liability or claimed liability in
connection with this writing submission. I acknowledge that I have read this consent and release prior to
signing it and that I understand its contents.
