GOAL: Developing intergenerational programs to
  encourage middle and high school students to
  work and volunteer in health care and long-term care
  settings

 Detroit Lakes Public Schools received a $15,000 grant
  from the MDE and MDH

 Detroit Lakes Public Schools received a $5,000
  companion grant from West Central Initiative
DL Grant Scope and Purpose

Develop a comprehensive health careers
 exploration program by creating a K-12
 system of curricula, programs, and
 activities through increased collaboration
 and cooperation between local schools,
 MSCTC, and several area healthcare and
 long-term care providers
Project Outcomes

Provide career awareness, career exploration,
 and career experience for students K-12 by
 expanding work-based learning opportunities.
