					                          Observation Checklist.
                                 TASK

Create a draft checklist (in preparation for an assignment)
The checklist should include enough detail so you could make an analysis
of the player or team you may observe.

Step 1- Think about the layout of your checklist (see if you can find any
online! Online search match analysis, statistical analysis of certain sports
etc.

Step 2- Think of all the skills involved in the sport. For example:
Volleyball serve- underarm and over arm, dig, smash/spike. Badminton-
backhand serve, forehand/underarm, smash etc.

Step 3- How are you going to monitor if the skill is successful or not?
Could you rate the technique of a skill (good, satisfactory, very good).
How many times they used the skill and was it successful. Think about
how football commentators use match analysis- number of free kicks,
attacking plays, goals, set plays, faults in communication that resulted in a
goal etc

Step 4- How will you include an area for feedback? At the end (in a
column of your table) or create a space after checklist to analyse findings

Skill Successful Unsuccessful Comment/analysis
                                                 Miss Deakin smashed the
shuttle to win a point 9/10
Smash ///////// /(1) times, she therefore has a
                         (9) success rate of 90% (this is
                                                 a true statement!!!)

Step 5- Aim to complete at least one draft copy, as you will find that you
can use elements from each draft. It is to be easy to understand.

REMEMBER- YOU EITHER CREATE AN OBSERVATION SHEET FOR AN
INDIVIDUAL IN BADMINTON OR AN INDIVIDUAL IN VOLLEYBALL
                  OR TEAM IN VOLLEYBALL.
