Implementation Team: Charge
Develop specific implementation plans and service level statements for a customer-focused delivery of each ITST Server and Services Consolidation recommendation. The plans must realize the possible economies of scale and consistent, predictable service through a consolidated support infrastructure that maintains and improves the quality of support and responsiveness in partnership with all IT units. Initially, the focus of the plans should be on the campuses administrative units and academic units that wish to initially participate, but should have the capability of being scaled to the entire campus at some point in the future
Implementation Team Deliverables
Value statement/proposition for the service – customer, IT service providers, university perspectives A new architecture or adoption of existing model for the service A customer-centric server management architecture for each service area that incorporates customer needs in setting service requirements and service levels. Infrastructure support services requirements and possible reuse of existing facilities A fully defined service catalog for server management services (including SLS and/or SLA) Eligibility criteria and list of servers for which consolidation isn’t recommended – optimal service level – (scale, scope and cost)
Implementation Team Deliverables
A formal set of roles and responsibilities (who is doing what and where is it housed) Consolidated service implementation and transition plan(s) Proposal for necessary hardware/software to be purchased (including vendor review if appropriate) Recommended disposition of existing hardware and software Summary of expected costs including migration, support and administration costs Service level review and governance process including intermediate milestones
