As a result of participation you will be able to:
• Understand the difference between stress, burnout and Compassion Fatigue.
• Identify personal risk factors for Compassion Fatigue
• Outline stressors that cause susceptibility to Compassion Fatigue
• Identify signs and symptoms of Compassion Fatigue
• Describe measures to prevent Compassion Fatigue
• Develop a self –care plan
Workshop leader is Lores Vlaminck, a nationally known consultant and educator on health
care related issues. Through 19 years of professional experience gained as an
administrator/director of a hospice and home care program, Lores shares her passion and
compassion for excellence in delivery of care and services. She is certified as a hospice and
palliative care nurse as well as a trainer for the End-Of-Life-Nursing Education Consortium
and Education for Physicians on End of Life Care.
There is no charge to attend, but space is limited so you must register in advance.
