he had just done something “very bad” and that he needed to go to jail. When questioned further
Fulfer stated that he had broken into a trailer and killed an elderly female by strangulation at
     Laguna Mobile Home Park.

Officers responded to the trailer park to locate the possible crime scene. Officers also learned of
the previous medical call at 1617 Gathe and were told the victim had been transported two hours
earlier to French Hospital. An Officer was sent to French Hospital in order to determine what
injuries the victim sustained and if the injuries were consistent with an assault. At the victim’s
trailer officers located a window screen that had been removed and was used as the point of
entry. This window was located on the opposite side the trailer where the victim had been
discovered by the Fire Department. The entry point was consistent with the suspect’s statements.
Police Detectives and the Department’s Evidence Technician were called out from home to
conduct the investigation. The scene was secured and as of the time of this release the location is
     being processed for evidence.

The Officer that was sent to French Hospital was sent to determine the extent of the victim’s
injuries. The injuries were consistent with the attack, as it was described by the suspect. There
was no evidence or indications that the victim was sexually assaulted or indication that any other
suspects were involved. At the time of this release the victim is in French Hospital ICU and is in
serious condition. It has not been determined when the victim was able to push her Life Alert
button however it is very apparent that the device could have saved her life.

Suspect Fulfer stated that he did not know the victim and he had randomly selected her. The
suspect lives in the same trailer park as the victim. Additional statements by the suspect will not
     be released at this time.

Fulfer was booked at San Luis Obispo County jail and was charged with the following crimes:

     664/187 P.C. - Attempted Murder

459 P.C. - Burglary (entering with the intent to commit grand theft, petty theft or any other
                felony).

368(b)(1) P.C.- Elder Abuse (infliction of pain or mental suffering or endangering heath)

664/211 P.C. - Attempted Robbery (the taking of personal property of another by means of force
