                                    General Assembly Funds NCPTA Parent
                                    Involvement Initiative for Second Year
                                      The North Carolina General Assembly passed the budget for the 2008 Short
                                      Session. The budget contains $300,000 to continue and expand the NCPTA
                                      Parent Involvement Initiative. NCPTA thanks the primary sponsors of the Senate
                                      and House NCPTA Parent Involvement Initiative bills: Sen. Linda Garrou, Rep.
                                      Rick Glazier, Rep. Douglas Yongue, Rep. Marvin Lucas, and Rep. Marian
