In an effort to adequately prepare for the Advanced Placement Chemistry, you should
read Chapter 1 and 2 from the Zumdahl book, and do the assigned problems out of the
text. You may pick up packets from room 29 in the science hallway.

The packet will include;
   • Copies of Chapters 1 and 2
   • Learning goals for chapters 1 and 2
   • Textbook assignments for chapters 1 and 2. (Listed below).
   • Flowchart for Naming compounds and Summary of Naming
   • Ion List-Needs to be memorized
   • Solubility Rules-Needs to be memorized
   • Answer sheet for textbook problems.

Assignment: Read and take notes over the two chapters (Chapter 1 and 2). Strongly
advise that you work the example problems included in the chapters, they are very
beneficial!
Textbook assignments are as follows;
Chapter 1;
16, 21, 25-30, 31a-c, 49, 59, 60, 68 and 69.

Chapter 2;
15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 28, 35-39, 41-45, 49-51, 57-64, 68-72.

TEXTBOOK ASSIGNMENTS SHOULD BE ON PROVIDED ANSWER SHEET,
ALL MATH WORK SHOWN WHEN APPLICABLE, STAPLED AND TURNED
IN THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL.

Evaluation: An AP style test, multiple choice and free response section, will be given on
approximately the fourth day of school in an effort to assess your knowledge of review
details and concepts in Chapter 1-2.

Good Luck!!
