knowledge on specific topics including science, math, language,
literature, and communication skills. The Academic Decathlon
Team is open to all students regardless of academic
performance. Freshmen and sophomores may act as alternates
only.

Adelante is a club for Latino students and those who are                                                            Room A205
interested in Latino culture. Students discuss issues that pertain
to Latinos at the school, in Framingham, and in the United
States. Our activities include professional and academic
informational workshops, building strong resumes for work and
college, and receiving guidance for post-secondary education.
We also plan field trips and organize fundraisers.

The cheerleaders direct fans in cheers at football games,
basketball games, and rallies. They also compete in the Bay
State League and other tournaments. Tryouts are held in the
spring.

Chess club is a place for students of all levels to come in once a                                                       Room E105
week and play with other members. If you do not play chess,
but would like to learn, come to a meeting and learn the game.
Each semester there will be a Chess tournament, which is open
to everyone as well.

Framingham High School that is dedicated to create a safer
school for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT)
youth. There are three areas in which Common Ground feels its
mission lies:
    1. Educating the Framingham High School Community
        (staff, faculty, and students) about homophobia and
        other issues and events that effect GLBT youth to
        ensure a safer and more respectful learning
        environment for all students at the High School.
    2. Creating a safe and social area for GLBT students and
        their straight allies to meet weekly to discuss current
        and relative GLBT issues that are pertinent in their
        everyday lives.
    3. Creating a supportive network with organizations within
        the Framingham Community, other High School GSAs,
        and adult GLBT organizations.

protégés/mentees adjust to the culture of Framingham High

rhetoric and debate, and competes at regional tournaments, as
well as within the high school.

Brazilian students to join our meetings here at FHS. We meet
for debates about current events, lectures by different
community speakers and informational workshops on academic
matters. We also organize fundraisers, plan
field trips, and prepare for school events.

productions each year in our state-of- the-art 650 seat theater.
These productions include a winter play, a one-act state festival
entry, a spring musical and a senior cabaret. In addition we
produce several less formal productions in our Studio H100,
including the 24-hour theater project and the high school
theater exchange. The Company meets every Monday at 2pm in
room H100.

us on Thursdays after school. Our activities include language
exchanges, cultural presentations, making international foods,
enjoying international movies, music, and arts. The
International Club promotes cross-cultural awareness and
understanding.

who share an interest in politics and current events. Each year,
pending fundraising, the group travels to two out of state
conferences. At these conferences, students play the role of
senators and representatives and attempt to get mock
legislation passed. In the process, students learn parliamentary
procedure, develop excellent
debating skills, and meet top students from around the country.

Music Club is the umbrella club for all the music department                                                          Room H104
organizations. Members raise awareness of music and its
importance throughout the school. The club oversees
fundraising for field trips, concerts and activities within the
music department. Sub-clubs include: Band, Cloud Nine,
Concert Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Madrigals, Orchestra, Syncop8ed,
and Show Choir.

at FHS. The purpose is to explore the college entry process,
develop leadership skills, and perform community service in a
supportive environment that will assist students in their racial
development. It is open to all students in grades 9-12.
