Would you recommend this course?

     I would definitely recommend this course, as not only does it give you
      subject knowledge but also the confidence to use it
     I would strongly recommend this course to anyone who is going into
      primary teaching
     Yes, the course has been very interesting and useful
     Definitely
     I feel my knowledge of English Grammar has improved a lot
     I feel it has really improved what little knowledge I had before and the
      results of this was evident towards the end. I am rally pleased and
      would recommend that everyone should undertake it
     Definitely, especially for GTP students
     Highly recommend it

What was the most enjoyable aspect of the course?

     Thoroughly enjoyed the whole course. I found analysing grammar
      fascinating and then applying this knowledge to examples of children’s
      writing highly useful and enlightening
     Learning detailed information about the topics
     Meeting others
     Increasing my knowledge and understanding. It was enlightening!
      Course tutors were excellent, very helpful and enthusiastic
     Improving knowledge to give me greater confidence as a trainee
      teacher. Also meeting tutors and other GTP and PGCE students
     Relating the grammar we learnt to marking children’s work especially
      for techniques helping to improve it
     Analysis of children’s work
     Having the opportunity to read childrens’ texts and gain better
      understanding that in this area that will help on the course in
      September
     Doing practical activities
     Tutor was very clear
     Appraisal of child’s writing … being able to think of possible tasks to
      enable them to improve
     I was aware of my knowledge and understanding improving
     Group discussions
     Relaxed style to learn, interact and assess

     The learning environment and atmosphere
     Able to ask questions
     Lecturers helpful, approachable and friendly
     Practical teaching enabled us to absorb the information
     The content was fascinating


What was the least enjoyable aspect of the course?

         Lengthy discussion and some repetition, text level work was of less
          help than other sections
         Covering material which was obvious eg types of literature/texts
         Intensity of some sessions
         I did not feel ready to share answers in the class
         Sometimes hard to recognise when you would need this knowledge
         Would like more practice applying the information learned in a
          teaching context
         Some difficult aspects that took a while to understand but worth the
          brain work in the end
         First week seemed a lot more varied
         Realising how little I knew about grammar at the start of the course
